Product Name
rhEGF, Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor
Overview
Human epidermal growth factor (EGF) has a molecular weight of 6.2 kD, contains 53 amino acids, and has three intramolecular disulfide bonds. EGF binds to EGFR, a specific receptor located on the cell surface, and induces a series of biochemical reactions in the cell, including an increase in the intracellular calcium concentration level, the promotion of glycolysis, an increase in protein synthesis, and the enhancement of the expression of specific genes, such as EGFR, which promotes the synthesis of DNA and the proliferation of cells.
